About Me
I am originally from Walsall, In the UK. I earned a Bachelor of Education Honors Degree in Fine Art and Design from the University of Sheffield.
I spent four years teaching in Kenya. I emigrated to Canada in 1984, where I have lived and worked in seven different British Columbia communities. I’ve lived in the beautiful Okanagan Valley since 2001.
Oil and Acrylics are my chosen mediums, I love the richness and vibrancy of the pigments and the use of transparent colour.
My favourite subjects tend to be landscapes, I focus on trying to capture the colours and lighting of a scene or subject. The colours here in the Okanagan are totally different from what I experienced in the UK and Kenya; the blues of the sky and lakes are very unique. Then the colours of Alberta are different again!
I’m frequently out and about with my camera; it’s amazing how a familiar scene can change so quickly and dramatically. We are blessed to be surrounded with such awe-inspiring scenery in British Columbia.
